About Boian
Wildness and slices of bread with chutney. Programming and denial of frameworks, miscellaneous. Can we make it simpler and work forever?
Most likely not - but we'll try.
The picture below this text is of the cover of Pratchett's Little Gods. Along with Brutha, chained to the turtle and the "exquisitor" Deacon Vorbis. The scene is towards the end of the book before the novice Brutha becomes a saint.

Can we have a picture of the hero?
Yep.
I am visiting Joro and Ani. Katya, whose godfather I am, picked up wigs from somewhere for Halloween. And here I am dressed as a star in a drag show.
Note the coral blouse they gave me for my birthday. It opens me up a lot.
Do you have a photo as a pirate?
I have. Check!

One for the more?
Guess who I pretend to be...
Nope.
It's Tuco from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
I'm wearing black and my eyes are red from the peppers in my meal.
Something auto-biographical?
I was born in the summer of God in 1981 in a poor engineering family. Wild things in childhood and slices with chutney. Grandma Boyana made "bidi" and bacon on a "sach", quite greasy, but it was good with tomatoes and a slice of bread.
Then I discovered that there are computers and programming... in BASIC. There was a book called "I Program and I am 9" with a red pixelated rooster on the cover. I liked Conan the Barbarian and Commando with Brother Arnie.
I still like it, but I also discovered Pratchett's books. A cynical philosopher behind the apparent humor. Conan the Barbarian's soundtrack is spot on. It's almost heavy metal... like Lord of the Rings.
I can write in various languages, but the software industry has become like a circus, where half-assed libraries are dragged from everywhere and towers of Babel are made of code, where no one cares how long it will last... Maybe in the next npm update it will come to you and all your react scripts will have to go through hooks, which are far worse than ordinary class-components. But it's modern, isn't it? And the garbage collector of V8 or whatever-engine-you-have will waste cycles freeing heap memory from your temporary objects.
They should ban people from becoming programmers without taking a course in logic and philosophy. And then to take an oath that they will behave like engineers and not like bums or "Plushkin" with their code.
End of rant.
